EATING HEALTHY – IMPORTANCE OF WOMEN'S HEALTH FOR WELLNESS

  • Green leafy vegetables – Best as soups with garlic, cumin and little butter, combination for Dal as protein supplement, combination for vegetable and fruit smoothies, salads, parathas, porridges, sandwiches, burgers.
  • All vegetables are good – eat them at least – every vegetable – once in a week – cook with less oil and time to make sure nutrients and taste are not lost
  • Chicken and fish are rich source of calcium, magnesium, phosphorous and B5 which act as energy and immunity boosters, stress busters, gynic problem relievers and natural healers – given the lean meat has to be cooked healthy and in combination with herbs.
  • Flax seeds help with PCOD, PSOS, menopause symptoms – the powder can be mixed in all recipes as a good medicinal and nutritional supplement. If the powder is made with flaxseeds, garlic, curry leaves, cumin and pepper - this can be mixed with rice / rotis / bread – taken as first morsel during lunch / dinner – this gives hormonal balance, weight loss, good blood circulation and digestive health.
  • Butter milk is rich in calcium and more healthier than milk – Churn curd with little ginger powder, green chili, cumin, asafetida, fresh coriander and mint (filter if you want) – add one spoon lemon juice + take one spoon of fenugreek powder with butter milk to get overall wellness.
  • Peanuts, almonds, pistachios, raisins, dates, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds and walnuts are better snack substitutes.
  • Eat lot of cereals, sprouted grains, eggs, beans, berries, melons, citrus fruits, bananas, carrots, apples, papaya, guava, gooseberry, pomegranate, pineapple.
  • Green tea is super healthy to detox – if drinking tea / coffee with milk – only once / twice a day – cut down on sugar – instead add cinnamon power – balances nervous system, blood pressure and diabetes, aids weight loss.
  • Chocolates are happy food and dark chocolates are better – chocolate milk is good – prevents heart ailments – but beware – eat in moderation.
  • Use jaggery and honey for sweetening – be conscious about eating – stomach is not a dust bin for leftovers / stale / stored food.
  • Health is all bout moderation – eat when you are hungry and drink when you are thirsty – litres of water per day varies from person to person based on their individual needs – unnecessary water consumption will only make your body more toxic.
  • Junk food and eating readymade food is fun once in a while; we will be healthy only when we eat the food suitable for our geographical and climatic conditions. Patience and passion is the key to choose what we eat and how we prepare it.
